Sirratti al shakhsiya [cv]

Actually I don't remember being born, it must have
happened during one of my black outs.
                                                     - Jim Morisson -
But i definitely can say that i am a Lebanese born
in Muskat, Oman on May 28, 1976.
Moved to Lebanon soon after and in 1995 graduated
with a Bacc2 Philosophy degree from the School of
Jesus & Mary, Rabieh.
I then continued my higher education at Notre Dame
University in Louaizeh, Lebanon, where i twisted my
brains into braids from the year 1995 to graduate in
1999 with a B.A in Graphic Design.
I worked my way through college designing websites
at a small Web Design company named NETGATE,
which i unfortunately heard that it closed in 2004.
One of my first clients were MENASSEH, and
BOU KHALIL SUPERMARKETS.
Fast forwarding through my graduation and a few
weeks of well deserved 1999 summer holidays,
i started work still in Lebanon at an advertising agency
called ECHOMEDIA. Being a virgin on advertising
grounds, i tried to soak in all the experience and
learn the trade from the professionals. It was my first
hands on hands introduction to Adobe Illustrator and
Photoshop. I loved it!
My clients were FAP, & MIKATI TELECOMM.
By the year 2001 I was ready to leave the nest of
ECHOMEDIA and search for another adventure.
This time it was the interactive realm that needed
exploration, so in 2001 I hopped on board a very
enthusiastic team at STARGATE CYBERACTIVE
SGCA as a Designer and Visual communicator.
I was so intrigued with all the lingo of the cyber world
and taught myself a few tricks in flash and HTML.
Being an in-house designer for the company made
me challenge myself to be more proactive.
The ultimate pit stop in my journey was in the year
2003, where I left SGCA to get married to my other
half GHASSAN ZOGHBI. It was also a change of
scenery! I left Lebanon and landed in Dubai.
Same year 2003 in Dubai I started work at G2 and
GREYWORLDWIDE DUBAI as an interactive designer,
where I spent my days and nights designing for NOKIA,
WAFI, THE ONE, VISA & BAT (BRITISH AMERICAN
TOBACCO) and many more. From 2003 till 2005 I
was obsessed with interactivity and the net, but soon
enough wanted a different challenge. ADVERTISING.
2005 a promotion landed me to Senior Art Director
at G2 and the journey continued to include the same
clients as before but a totally different medium!
2007 brought an end to my contractual life as a
DESIGNER, but opened up a new way of designing.
FREELANCING.
Always faithful to my former employers till this day
still i am the Freelancer for companies such as G2
and MnM BRANDSTREET, working on the corporate
identity of many clients like TAMEER from designing
their logos to their guidelines, interactively designing
for VIRGIN MEGASTORE. Contributing in pitches,
molding their clients to be the next best thing.
This journey started from the desert,
to the green forests,
to the desert again.

Soon after we were blessed with a boy that changed
my life and steered me away for a while from
the advertising world and inspired me to paint.

I immersed in painting for almost three years.
Exhibiting twice in New York at
is considered the highlight of my year, as well as moving
back to the green pastures of Lebanon.

Anticipating the next stop, eager to know what the
future holds for me.
I go by many alias names but would stick to my
formal name in this situation!

Print di-zahy-nz

all during my working years, i have accumulated a rather interesting collection of di-zahy-nz that i have done for various clients. some were published and others were deemed inappropriate for some communities and were doomed to be discarded. like every dee-zahy-ner our best works remain unpublished. here is a sneak peak at one of those moments in my dee-zahy-n history.

Identity di-zahy-nz

simply said, simply done
branding is Oh! so much fun!

this little poem was created to demonstrate my love of branding and identity to the whole world. i will scream it on the highest mountains, realistically speaking we live in dubai so... i will scream it on the highest rooftops of one of the buildings of Sheikh Zayed.
(would love to have the authorization to scream it on the top of Burj Dubai *hint*)

Illustration di-zahy-nz

let's not beat around the bush... once they discover that u can draw a stick figure man, EVERY single client starts to URGENTLY NEED a mascot or a character. so... voila!

Packaging di-zahy-nz

to design a package is the ultimate brain teaser for me. i love to think of all the mechanics surrounding it and just go crazy making the 3d dummy of it. here are some of my packaging crazes that broke the budget!

Strategic di-zahy-nz

without strategically placing our brand, we go nowhere with our dee-zahy-n. rub it in their faces, scream it out from the rooftops, harassing your brain in the most appropriate way... well that's wat we do for a living. love it or ignore it.

Artistic di-zahy-nz

Some consider it abstract, some consider it contemporary, some even went to the point of calling it contemporary portraiture. I simply call it a way of expressing.Speaking of writing and expressing, i sort of battle my inner demons by writing http://xo-if.blogspot.com

Miniature di-zahy-nz

molding and sculpting is one of my vices. i enjoy the reincarnation of my loved ones into creatures that grab a glimpse of their inner character and beauty.

Electronic di-zahy-nz

i can be challenged to the max when it comes to inter-activeness. although i am clueless when it comes to the high tech mumbo jumbo that happens behind the scenes, i wont make it sound pretty by stating that i know all that stuff. all i know is how to make it beautiful to the eye. i've done more than a dozen websites and i dont hear anyone complaining. so bite me.
